Mohave County Arizona Substance Treatment Education & Prevention Partnership. To decrease substance abuse and ensure adequate and accessible substance abuse treatment services in Mohave County. General Purpose: To work with organizations and individuals throughout Mohave County who endeavor to decrease substance abuse in our communities and improve treatment options and outcomes for our citizens. MSTEPP was established in 2007 to unite citizens throughout Mohave County in finding solutions to the substance abuse epidemic pervasive throughout our communities. At the time of MSTEPP’s formation, substance abuse was considered “out of control”. Unfortunately, current indicators suggest the problem has become significantly worse. MSTEPP seeks to break this unhealthy and heartbreaking trend by facilitating drug and alcohol education opportunities, encouraging substance abuse prevention programs and encouraging the development of high quality treatment programs which are accessible and affordable to all Mohave County residents.

Mohave County Arizona Adult Substance Abuse Recovery Court Program. The Mohave County Probation Adult Recovery Court seeks to connect defendants who suffer from a substantial substance abuse problem to appropriate treatment services in the community to enhance public safety, reduce recidivism, and find appropriate dispositions to the criminal charges by taking into consideration the individual’s substance abuse problem, mental and physical health, and the seriousness of the offense. The minimum duration of Recovery Court is fourteen months and includes five phases. There is a non-adversarial courtroom atmosphere where a judge, probation staff, attorneys, and treatment providers work as a team toward the common goal of breaking the cycle of addiction and criminal behavior. Adult Recovery Court participants have access to a variety of treatment and rehabilitation services, e.g., residential treatment, intensive outpatient, relapse prevention, individual sessions, and recovery residences. Probation funding of treatment is subject to availability and an evaluation of the justice-involved individual’s financial status, including determination of whether they are AHCCCS eligible.
